Penetrating sealers offer an invisible layer of protection against stains and water ingress damage to the interior of the concrete. Penetrating sealers work by increasing surface tension to resist the ingress of the water. They create hydrophobic water-beading, meaning water will quickly form into droplets on the sealed concrete or paver surface instead of soaking in. While penetrating sealers will generally not provide color or sheen enhancement, they offer superior levels of abrasion, heat, and UV resistance compared to topical acrylic sealers or coatings.
